An anime adaptation of the spin-off manga Baki Gaiden: Retsu Kaioh Won't Mind Even If He's Reincarnated in Another World was announced on Monday, alongside a promotional teaser video. The series will be produced by TMS Entertainment, the veteran studio behind decades of anime staples.
Created by Daisuke Ihara and Eiji Mutsui, the spin-off takes Retsu Kaioh — the formidable Chinese kenpō master from Keisuke Itagaki's Baki franchise — and reincarnates him into a classic isekai setting, mining comedy from the clash between his brutal fighting philosophy and a genre built on adventurers and magic. Ihara and Mutsui launched the series in Akita Shoten's Monthly Shōnen Champion in November 2020, and the 16th collected volume hit shelves on March 6.
TMS is no stranger to the Baki universe. The studio previously adapted Baki-dō, the sequel to Hanma Baki, giving it an established track record with the property's signature over-the-top action. No premiere date, cast, or staff details have been confirmed yet.
