BODY: On October 31, Square Enix released a trailer for "Ghosts of Desire," a collaboration between Final Fantasy XIV and the Evangelion anime series, according to GAME Watch. It was shown at the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival 2026 in Tokyo, which started that day at Makuhari Messe.
The trailer has narration by Misato Katsuragi, voiced by Kotono Mitsuishi, giving it an Evangelion feel, and it shows Unit 01 running at full speed.
Producer Naoki Yoshida commented, in the article's words, that if Misato's voice is in it, Misato also appears, and then added that he had said something unnecessary.
"Ghosts of Desire" is planned for release in three parts, starting with patch 8.1. The article describes it as content for the expansion known in Japan as Hakugin no Wanderer (Evercold in English), and Final Fantasy XIV is available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.
