BODY: On October 27, Qookka Games announced a collaboration between its mobile game Sangokushi Senkiban and Final Fantasy Tactics - The Ivalice Chronicles, according to AUTOMATON.

Sangokushi Senkiban is a free-to-play hybrid of a tactical role-playing game and a strategy game for iOS and Android, made under an official license from Koei Tecmo for Romance of the Three Kingdoms 14. Players become one of the warlords of the Three Kingdoms era, develop their territory and compete with other forces. In the strategy half, players raise officers and manage units on a large map, fighting over castles and mountain passes. In the tactics half, players move officers themselves on a board, deciding each move and when to trigger a battle tactic. Unit-type matchups, officer placement and tactic timing decide the fights, and players can join large-scale battles between player alliances.

The Ivalice Chronicles is described as a port of the 1997 PlayStation game Final Fantasy Tactics, in which the hero travels to find out the truth behind the Lion War. Its battles use a grid with height differences and a sense of time, such as the time it takes to cast magic.

The collaboration is limited-time. The board elements that define Final Fantasy Tactics, along with familiar characters, will appear on the battlefield of Sangokushi Senkiban. Which characters, and other details, will be announced in order later.

The official launch is planned for soon. Registering through an app store gives the officer Diaochan plus up to 100 free recruitments, and registering by email enters a prize draw that includes a Nintendo Switch 2. All registrants also receive in-game items depending on how many people pre-register.

The insider take

No character names or mechanics for the collaboration have been announced yet, so what it will actually contain is unknown. The official X post also mentions a draw in which ten winners receive a 1,000 yen Amazon gift card for following, reposting and pre-registering.
