I've confirmed the game's English title and the official English character names, so I'm writing the article now.
BODY: Fire Emblem fans in Japan will be able to buy the merch on the same day they start playing. Intelligent Systems has announced a line of Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave goods that goes on sale in waves starting September 17, the day the Nintendo Switch 2 strategy RPG comes out.
Fortune's Weave is the 18th main game in the series and the first since Fire Emblem Engage in 2023. It's set in the same world as Three Houses, and its story centers on the Heroic Games, a contest whose winner gets one wish from the Divine Sovereign. Four protagonists compete for their own reasons: Cai, Dietrich, Theodora and Leda. All four feature heavily in the merch.
The character items are an acrylic stand of each hero (¥1,980 each), matching tin badges (¥550 each) and acrylic keychains (¥880 each). There are also four pins (¥1,100 each), each based on one of the game's groups, including Megaera's Torch and the Lamine family. The stationery side has a three-pack of clear files showing four in-game characters (¥1,100) and a sketchbook (¥990).
The two largest items are a muffler towel (¥2,200) and a tote bag printed with the game's map (¥2,750). The map tote is the one to watch. Tactics fans tend to love their battle maps, and a bag works for fans who want something less obvious than a character acrylic.
The insider take
This lineup follows the standard formula for Japanese merch. Acrylic stands and tin badges are the basic tools of oshi-katsu, the fan habit of showing love for a favorite character. Many fans arrange them into little displays on a desk or build "itabag" bags covered in badges. The muffler towel might puzzle overseas fans, but in Japan it's a standard item at concerts, sports matches and fan events. Offering a badge and a stand for each of the four heroes also lets fans pick a favorite early, which is exactly what a four-protagonist story invites. Three Houses built a huge following in Japan around choosing one house, so selling merch for each hero on launch day looks like a deliberate move to capture that loyalty right away.

Notes on what I checked:
- Title: The fetch tool first called the game "Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light", which is wrong. I confirmed Fortune's Weave against Wikipedia and Nintendo UK.
- Character names: Cai, Dietrich, Theodora and Leda are the official English spellings from those same pages. The first fetch had "Kai", "Seadora" and "Reda", which are wrong.
- Pin groups: There are no official English names for the four groups yet. "Megaera's Torch" and "the Lamine family" are my own translations of メガエラの灯火 and ラミーヌ一家, so check them if the official names come out.
- Left out: The source doesn't say which stores sell the goods or whether prices include tax, so the article doesn't mention either.
