BODY: Many Tokyo apartments barely have room for a desk, let alone a full-size tower PC. Third Wave's latest GALLERIA lineup is built for that problem.

At Tokyo Game Show 2026, Third Wave introduced the GALLERIA E-Series, a compact gaming PC in a case of about 18 liters. The company says the E-Series takes up 68% less desk space than its GALLERIA mini tower and is 56% smaller than the previous model. Even so, the top configuration comes with a GeForce RTX 5070 Ti. It uses an ITX motherboard and six fans, and the premium version uses Noctua case fans. Third Wave says the PC stays under 60dB and keeps internal temperatures below 60°C under load. The E-Series went on sale September 17 in black and white, starting at „199,980.

"The common sense that high-performance PCs must be large — we challenged that assumption," the company said on stage. Masaki Nagai, Third Wave's president, said GALLERIA is now focused on three areas: gaming, creative work and AI.

Third Wave also announced two lines for professionals. The GALLERIA SMTRE-R59-GL workstation uses a Ryzen Threadripper 9000 series chip with up to 64 cores and 128 threads. It comes with 128GB of ECC memory, which can be raised to 256GB, and is aimed at AI, video production, 3D and simulation work. A new AI-Ready range starts with 10 models, each benchmarked with UL Procyon, for people who want to run and build AI tools on their own machines.

The biggest news for fans was a Final Fantasy 40th anniversary collaboration. Third Wave plans 16 PCs, one for each mainline game from Final Fantasy I to XVI. Each will have that game's artwork on its glass side panel, and they are due in early 2027. Models for FF, FFVII and FFX are on display at the GALLERIA booth. The FFXIV model will appear at the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival 2026, held October 31 to November 2.

The insider take

In Japan, GALLERIA is one of the best-known names in pre-built gaming PCs. You'll see it in electronics stores like Dospara and Yodobashi and in esports sponsorships. It's the kind of machine people buy when they don't want to build their own. A small PC with an RTX 5070 Ti makes a lot of sense in Tokyo, where many apartments are under 25 square meters. The Final Fantasy series is also a smart choice, because Japanese fans love to collect complete sets. Final Fantasy debuted in December 1987, so the early 2027 launch lines up with the lead-in to the anniversary. Buyers who want all 16 PCs will need a lot of money and a lot more space than the E-Series takes up.
