BODY: Inaba's youngest detective has a new case. At Tokyo Game Show 2026, ATLUS released a trailer for Persona 4 Revival focused on Naoto Shirogane, the sharp-minded first-year student whose arrival changes the course of the Investigation Team's hunt for a killer.

Naoto is the fifth generation of the Shirogane detective family and works closely with the police on the case. ATLUS describes her as intelligent and composed. Her Persona is Sukuna-Hikona, named after a small but clever deity from Japanese mythology. The name fits a character who is often underestimated.

Amber Lee Connors voices Naoto in English, and Romi Park returns to the role in Japanese. Park is one of Japan's best-known voice actors. Anime fans know her as Edward Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist and Hange Zoë in Attack on Titan, and she first voiced Naoto in the original Persona 4.

Persona 4 Revival launches February 18, 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store. It will also be on Game Pass. A Nintendo Switch 2 version follows on May 20, 2027. If you want more before then, ATLUS has a dedicated Persona 4 Revival broadcast set for September 19 at 7:00 p.m. EDT, which is 8:00 a.m. on September 20 in Japan.

The insider take

Here in Tokyo, it makes sense that ATLUS chose TGS to show off Naoto. Persona 4 has become a lasting part of Japanese pop culture: its characters still show up in collaboration cafés, on merch shelves in Ikebukuro, and in cosplay crowds at Makuhari Messe nearly two decades after the original release. For many Japanese fans, Romi Park's performance is Naoto, so keeping her in the role gives Revival a real link to the original. The morning broadcast slot is also good news for players in Japan, who often have to stay up late for Western-timed showcases. This time, they can watch over breakfast.

Notes:

  • I read the full Gematsu article to fill in the details above.
  • One point didn't come from Gematsu: I believe Romi Park also voiced Naoto in the original Persona 4, which is why the article says she "returns." Please check that before publishing.
  • The quote Gematsu gives from the official description ("A first school detective") looks garbled, so I paraphrased it instead of quoting it.
