BODY: Pokémon collectors got a fresh hit of pre-order temptation this week as Amazon Japan quietly opened product pages for the latest wave of Takara Tomy's "Moncolle Poko a Pokémon Collection" figures. Tied to the mobile game Pokémon Poko Poke (Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket spin-off territory), the lineup leans into soft pastel palettes and oddball deep cuts that long-time fans will instantly clock.
Each figure is priced at ¥715 (tax included) and slated for release in August 2026. The headliner is a "Pastel Pikachu" (うすいろピカチュウ) rendered in a washed-out cream and pink colorway—a clear departure from the standard electric-yellow mascot. Joining it is a figure of "Pro Mojumbo" (モジャンボはかせ), the lab-coated, mustachioed version of Mojumbo (Tangrowth) that has become an unexpected breakout character within the Poko Poke community.
The full wave rounds out with additional series favorites reimagined in the line's signature chibi-soft sculpting style. Takara Tomy's Moncolle line has historically served as the entry-level, blind-friendly counterpart to the premium MonColle EX and Scale World figures, and the ¥715 price point keeps the wave firmly in pocket-money territory for Japanese kids and impulse-buy range for overseas collectors.
Pre-orders via Amazon Japan are open now, though as with most Moncolle waves, allocation is expected to be tight—previous Poko Poke tie-in figures sold through within hours of street date.
The insider take
In Tokyo toy circles, the Poko Poke Moncolle line is being read less as a kids' product and more as The Pokémon Company's careful test of whether mobile-game IP characters—especially weird ones like Pro Mojumbo—can carry physical merchandise on their own. Pastel-colorway Pikachus have become a reliable resale flip at Nakano Broadway and Akihabara's Yamashiroya, so expect the August drop to vanish from Amazon long before release day, with prices on Mercari climbing well above the ¥715 sticker within the first week.
