BODY:
Neon-soaked corridors, wall-running gunfights, and a slow-motion balletic hail of bullets — SPRAWL zero is bringing its retro-futuristic mayhem to more players than originally planned. Developer MaETH and publisher Rogue Games have confirmed that the fast-paced first-person shooter will add a Nintendo Switch 2 version to its launch lineup, with the game arriving August 8.

SPRAWL zero now targets PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam simultaneously. The game is a follow-up in the SPRAWL universe, an homage to the boomer-shooter revival and cyberpunk classics, where players tear through hostile megacity environments blending frenetic movement with cinematic gunplay.

The addition of a Switch 2 version is notable given the demanding, high-speed nature of the genre. Nintendo's new hardware has increasingly become a viable home for twitch-reflex shooters that would have struggled on the original Switch, and SPRAWL zero joins a growing wave of third-party titles betting on the platform's expanded horsepower.

With a launch date locked for August 8, players across every major current-generation platform will be able to jump in at the same time — a rarity for a smaller-scale indie shooter that often sees staggered console rollouts.

## The insider take

From Tokyo, the timing feels deliberate. Switch 2 has been the talk of Akihabara storefronts and Japanese gaming forums since its debut, and third-party developers are eager to prove the hardware can handle the kind of high-velocity action long associated with PC and premium consoles. SPRAWL zero launching day-and-date on Switch 2 signals growing confidence among overseas indie studios that Nintendo's install base — historically cautious toward gritty Western shooters — is ready to embrace the cyberpunk boomer-shooter aesthetic. For Japanese players, it's another sign that the platform divide is quietly collapsing.
