BODY: Of all the crossovers Capcom could have pulled out of its hat at Tokyo Game Show, "Sunday-morning magical girls meet world warriors" was not on anyone's bingo card.
During the Capcom stage live on TGS 2026's Day 2, the publisher revealed that Street Fighter 6 will collaborate with Detective Precure, the current entry in Toei Animation's long-running Pretty Cure franchise. The centerpiece is a four-episode collaboration story launching December 17, with Luke, Jamie and Kimberly appearing in a soft, anime-styled art treatment lifted straight from the show's visual language.
Capcom showed a key visual and a short preview of the story during the segment, but kept nearly everything else in its pocket. There was no word on costumes, stages, music, pricing, or whether any of the Precure cast will appear in playable form โ only the standard "details to be announced at a later date." The collaboration will land across all current SF6 platforms: PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.
The shape of the announcement suggests the content will slot into World Tour, SF6's single-player RPG mode, which has become Capcom's favorite vehicle for guest appearances and story-driven events since launch.
The insider take
To understand why the room reacted the way it did, you have to know what Precure is in Japan. It has aired on Sunday mornings since 2004, it is the default first anime for a generation of Japanese kids, and it sells an enormous volume of transforming toys every year โ while also carrying a very large, very online adult fandom that nobody at Toei pretends doesn't exist. That second audience is the target here. Capcom has spent the past year widening SF6's reach in Japan beyond the tournament circuit, and the Switch 2 version put the game in front of family living rooms for the first time. A Precure tie-in is a remarkably efficient way to reach both the adult Precure faithful and the households that have the anime on in the background every week. Expect the December drop to be a merchandising moment as much as a game update.
