Publisher Mebius has announced that "Touhou Shoujo Kisoutan" (roughly, "Touhou Girls' Fantastical Tale"), a secondary-creation work built on ZUN's long-running Touhou Project universe, will arrive as a physical Switch package on October 29, 2026. The game has already circulated in other formats, but the boxed release gives collectors a tangible artifact of one of the doujin scene's more polished RPG efforts.
The setup will feel familiar to anyone who has spent time in Gensokyo. Players take control of a roster of eight characters, led by the ever-present shrine maiden Reimu Hakurei, as they explore the fantastical realm. The design splits its two halves cleanly: movement plays out as action, letting you traverse fields and dungeons in real time, while combat shifts into a command-based battle system — a classic JRPG rhythm layered onto Touhou's cast.
