BODY:

On October 29, Behaviour Interactive officially announced a collaboration between Dead by Daylight and the horror movie Terrifier, with Art the Clown joining as a killer. A Public Test Build of the collaboration chapter is available for a limited time on PC (Steam) starting that day, and the official release is expected at the end of November.

Terrifier is a horror series with three feature films so far, first shown in Japan in 2023 and known for its extreme violence, about a killer in a clown costume, Art the Clown, on nights such as Halloween and Christmas.

Art's power, Bag of Toys, pulls a random weapon out of a garbage bag, among them a flamethrower, a vial of acid and a bicycle horn, and each hit raises the weapon's lethality. Each weapon has its own Mini-Mori kill animation, and Art gets an exclusive killer emote: pointing and laughing at a survivor hanging on a hook. The new survivor, Sienna Shaw, is the protagonist of several films, and Art is fixated on her. Her perks are Valkyrie's Rage (a stronger stun when a pallet stuns the killer) and Best Gift Ever (placing a held item on the ground to gain a powerful ability).

Separately from the collaboration, the update adds a new map, the Hartshorne Mall, an indoor map themed on a shopping mall and liminal space, twisted by the Entity; it was teased in the June tenth-anniversary stream. Dead by Daylight is available on PC, Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4 and Xbox, and is offered on PS Plus and Xbox Game Pass.

The insider take

The Public Test Build is the place to try Art before the end-of-November release; as a test build, details may change.
