BODY: A swordsman, his impossibly cute master, and one shared roof: the anime adaptation of Doukyo Shiteiru Kensei no Onna Shishou ga Kawaisugite Mainichi Shiawase desu β€” mercifully shortened in English to My Sword Saint Master Is Too Cute to Live With! β€” pulled back the curtain on Friday with a full main cast and a teaser promotional video. The series is slated for Winter 2027.

Ai Kakuma (Mushoku Tensei) leads as the titular sword saint Lisa Balsandra, opposite Seena Hoshiki (Super no Ura de Yani Suu Futari) as her live-in student Eugene Dawson. The supporting ensemble is stacked with familiar names: Hitomi Ueda (Uma Musume) doubles as Cordelia Dawson and the narrator, with Azusa Tsujimori as Erin Toa, Tomoyo Takayanagi as Melis Eclipse, Miyu Tomita as Fiona Rosso, and Minami Takahashi as Lumiel Seomeil.

Masayoshi Nishita directs, with Youhei Kashii handling series composition, Ichirou Tanaka on character design, and 12sound scoring. Production is a joint effort between Wolfsbane and Light Box.

The source manga, written by Kennoji with art by R_ringo, has run on KadoComi's Web Comic Apanta platform since March 2024; Kadokawa released the second collected volume on January 23. Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the series in English under its Ghost Ship imprint, with volume one arriving in June 2027 β€” six months after the anime is due to air.

The insider take

Two things stand out from Tokyo. First, the timing: a Winter 2027 announcement landing in October 2026 is unusually early for a title with only two volumes on shelves, which reads as Kadokawa building runway rather than riding momentum β€” the anime is the marketing engine here, not the victory lap. Second, the Ghost Ship label on the English release is the tell. That's Seven Seas' mature-leaning imprint, which positions this squarely in the fan-service-forward corner of the cohabitation-fantasy boom that Isekai Ojisan and its cousins opened up. Whether Wolfsbane β€” a relatively young studio β€” can deliver the character animation that genre lives or dies on is the question the teaser doesn't yet answer.
